The Stare Down the Sun website was way overdue for a complete overhaul. Why did this take so long to get around to? In the time since the band released The Same Storm in 2009 Facebook had really taken over as the easy way for bands to connect with their audience and promote shows. The website took a backseat. But after releasing our new record Still Breathing this past year there has been a lot more discussion about the place that social media holds in both our lives and the way that companies promote their brands. In light of this, my attention shifted back to thinking about how SDTS was in control our content, our brand, our music, and our merchandise store. This website update puts our merchandise store front and center and will allow us to get some new items available for fans of the band more quickly. Some new features are a gig schedule that is powered by Bandsintown. Bandsintown will aggregate all of our performance events in one convenient place that will always stay updated. Following the band through Bandsintown will help our fans find out about both shows and streaming events through all their social connections like Facebook and Instagram. This News section is also set up to allow the individual band members to update from anywhere. We all have a lot of cool things going on and I'm excited to start sharing these things more regularly.
